My husband and I met at Blackthorn at Blackthorn 8 years ago. I've had many happy memories including new years, world cups, and other great moments in my life. It would be detrimental to the SF community if this bar closed, and I WILL NOT come back if a new bar opens. McGrath, do the right thing and let Blackthorn have that space!!!!

The best spot in the sunset, love this place. Nice bartenders and very positive space. They're in danger of being wrongfully evicted after being encouraged by the landlord to pour a bunch of their own money into renovations under false pretenses of a renewed lease, so support them if you can.

Loved the outdoor patio at Blackthorn! There is one TV in the outdoor area and they were even playing the audio from the Giants game which was a huge bonus. Decent selection of beers and drinks and a great place to relax on a nice day!

My favorite place to watch the Warriors Games. They let you bring in food and have a solid selection of draft beer. They have outside seating with a tv too. It can get busy but I think that adds to the liveliness!

Considerably better than it once was, the Blackthorn now has without a question the most diverse selection of spirits in the neighborhood. A broad selection of bourbon, mezcal, gin, etc with many options you won't find in the other bars in the Inner Sunset. Prices run a bit higher than I'd like to see, but that can be said about many post-pandemic bars. The cherry on top is they now have the best pinball table in existence, The Adams Family. I've lived in the neighborhood for over a decade and always ignored this place, but with the recent changes it will definitely be in my regular rotation going forward.

Dropped by Blackthorn with a friend on a whim while waiting for our takeout from Cybelle's. It was pretty crowded on a Friday night - looks like business has returned in spite of the pandemic. They checked our vaccination cards, which was reassuring. 4 stars for plentiful seating, both inside and outside. I had a cider and she had a Moscow mule, pretty standard. Minus one star for the preponderance of tech bros, notably the ones outside bragging about "which girls they banged." Not Blackthorn's fault, of course, but wanted to provide that detail for those of you who look to these reviews to get an idea of whether you'll like a place or not.
